Brake Actuator Replacement

The brake actuator pump is a common failure point on hybrid vehicles, triggering ABS, VSC, and brake warning lights. We replace the full assembly with a new OEM part, not just bleed the system.

Mobile service across Texas. We come to you.

Signs your brake actuator is failing

  • ABS, VSC, and brake warning lights on the dash, often all at once
  • A long buzzer that comes and goes
  • The brake pump running every 15 seconds or so, even with your foot off the brake
  • Diagnostic codes C1256 or C1391

What we do

  1. 1

Confirm the code and pressure loss before any work starts

  2. 2

Replace the complete brake actuator assembly with a new OEM part. We do not install used or remanufactured units

  3. 3

Bleed and test the system so ABS, brake-force distribution, and regenerative braking all come back

Where we do it

Mobile service across Texas, at your home, office, or wherever the car is parked.

Vehicles

Toyota Prius (2004–2009 most common) and other Toyota and Lexus hybrids.

Brake actuator FAQ

Can I keep driving with a C1256 code?

The car will still stop, but the actuator puts the brakes in a fail-safe mode that switches off anti-lock braking, brake-force distribution, and regenerative braking. Without regen the hybrid battery can over-discharge, which is why we often see actuator codes alongside battery codes. Get it looked at soon.

Do you use new or rebuilt actuators?

New OEM only. We stopped installing used and remanufactured actuators because of reliability problems.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the vehicle. Call or text us with your year, make, and model for a quote.

My battery light is on too. Which do I fix first?

The brakes. A failed actuator can drain the hybrid battery, so we check the actuator first and then test the battery.
